A Fitting Send-Off for a Farmer

>> Saturday, August 13, 2016

Just over a week ago, Pharmie's Grandpa passed away.

Four generations with baby Henry a few years back.

Great-Grandpa Francis and (chunky) baby Henry at our place.

The cemetery is about 4 miles south of my wife's hometown of Easton (population 199). Between the town and the cemetery is the farm where he worked the soil for so many years:

So the funeral procession actually drove through the farm one last time with Francis' flag-draped casket in the back. My wife's aunt (who lived on that farm for the last 30 years or so after Francis retired) climbed up the bins/elevator for the first time EVER to take photos of the procession:

The procession coming down the highway.

Turning down the gravel road.

Driving past the cows and ducks.

Past the barn.

Back on the road to his final resting place.

Rest in peace, Francis.

The Great-Grandkids after the burial.
